LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® can be used as a tool to bridge learning and practice in supervision and professional development with play therapy supervisees. This session offers an innovative and experiential approach to play therapy education and supervision for master’s level mental health students and practitioners. Attendees will explore the potential benefits of using LSP in both academic settings and clinical supervision. By incorporating LSP, educators and supervisors can create a rich, dynamic learning environment where students and professionals alike can build, explore, and solidify their play therapy knowledge and skills. LSP offers a hands-on, creative way to externalize complex concepts and personal growth, making supervision and professional development more interactive, reflective, and effective. Attendees will leave with concrete tools to integrate LSP into their practice, helping supervisees construct competence and deepen their professional identity as play therapists. This session is designed for educators, supervisors, and mental health professionals who are committed and inspired to advance play therapy through creative and innovative learning methods.

After attending this seminar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the concept of LSP and how it can be applied in supervision and professional development settings.
  2. Explain how LSP can enhance communication, reflection, and creativity among supervisees, leading to more effective supervision outcomes.
  3. Demonstrate how to effectively incorporate LSP to promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and personal growth through hands-on, experiential learning in academic and professional settings.
  4. Utilize three LSP techniques that foster engagement, collaboration, and deeper understanding between play therapy supervisors and supervisees.
